When I first started my self-employment career in 2002, I got fed up with being asked Was I enjoying retirement? Now, having worked with over 40 not-for-profits in five years helping their strategic thinking and planning, and in one case, acting as interim CEO on a part-time basis, people know better than to ask that question. But I do ration my work to four days a week now and I plan to take a three-month sabbatical next year. So … boo to retirement.
