With global warming becoming a hot topic, everyone is looking for ways to become more energy efficient and lessen their carbon ‘footprint’.

Dr. Graeme Pearman from Monash University has a few suggestions for the long-term care field.   Speaking at the Aged Care Association Australia national convention in Hobart, Dr. Pearman predicted that the increase in the average temperature over this decade will have a great impact on the water supply and sources of energy.

According to a report in Australian Ageing Agenda, Dr. Pearman urged the aged care providers to act now to make sure they know how much energy and water they consume and look for ways to reduce usage.

Sustainability will be the topic of an IAHSA Networking Forum during the 8th International Conference in London in July 2009, giving you a chance to share your ideas and learn from others.
