I admit that I’m a baby boomer.   And I  usually don’t pay much attention to the generational definitions but I found this blog posting by Tammy Erickson from Harvard Business Review interesting.

In it, Tammy points out that the changes taking place in the US are a sign that the Gen Xers [Barack Obama included] are now coming into leadership positions formerly held by boomers.    And these changes are happening both in government and the corporate world.

Some say that the defining trait of boomers was ‘ideology’ while Gen Xers emphasize pragmatism and efficiency.   It looks like it will be the Gen Xers to the rescue – and just in time on 20 January 2009.
