Gwenda Thomas,  Wales Deputy Minister for Social Services, has announced plans to launch a partnership of organizations to foster a more consistent and cost effective approach to delivering social care services and improving care for individuals.

As reported in WalesOnline, Ms. Thomas noted that the government’s 10 year strategy is to develop social services that are more accessible, personalised and enable people to remain in their homes as long as possible.

Creating an effection coalition of providers, consumers, carers and government is an excellent way to address these challenges.  One of the partners, Care Forum Wales, is working with IAHSA on the London Conference so hopefully we’ll have a progress report in July.
