There is a lively debate going on in Australia about the number of care beds that will be needed in the next 30 years.

Ageing Australia Agenda recently reported on a study by Catholic Health Australia which stated that the country could have a bed shortfall of 200,000 beds by 2039 if the government doesn’t fulfill its commitment to development of the sector.

However, Rod Young, CEO of IAHSA Chapter ACAA, feels that over development will hurt the providers if beds go empty.

Crystal ball anyone?
