The downturn in the global economy has had a tremendous impact on all types of industries.  A study just released by the US based National Investment Center for Seniors Housing and Care Industry illustrates how the recession is affecting the ability of seniors to sell their homes in order to pay entry fees for retirement communities or other types of senior housing.

The study includes a Data Analysis Map that tracks trends in the 31 largest metropolitan areas in the US.  This might be useful for cross country comparisons for strategic analysis of future opportunities.
