IAHSA and the Institute for the Future of Ageing Services [IFAS] recently released the final report of a multi-national study focusing on the long-term care paraprofessional and professional workforce in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Australia, Ireland and Spain.

The purpose of the project was to help better describe this sector of the ageing services workforce as well as to understand the issues these workers face and how these issues differ across countries.   The second goal was to examine ways in which health care products can assist and enhance the daily tasks of this workforce as they care for older adults.

The Invacare Corporation, a global manufacturer and distributor of home medical equipment, funded the project.

Dr. Robyn Stone, Executive Director of IFAS, will provide an update on the study during IAHSA’s 8th International Conference in London in July.
