As society ages it is anticipated that there will be an increase in the number of people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia. This can be a daunting challenge for family caregivers who try to stay connected to their loved ones.

To help deal with the challenges, Erin and Chris Bonitto created the concept of a Life Enrichment System, which includes an Alzheimer’s Dementia Lounge, therapeutic small groups and soft sensory interventions.

According to an article in the St. Cloud Times, the system has had tremendous results. The residents fell and wandered less, were less anxious and needed fewer medications. Both the residents and their families seemed to be happier.

Erin and Chris are taking their program global and will present during IAHSA’s 8th International Conference in London in July. Don’t miss it.
