The World Economic Forum is the latest global organization to weigh in on the importance of paying attention to global ageing through its report ‘Transforming Pensions and Healthcare in a Rapidly Ageing World’.   The report was issued in collaboration with MERCER and the OECD.

As reported by AARP International, the WEF report says that the global ageing issue demands action and the window of opportunity is closing rapidly.   The WEF recommends that societies develop collaborative ways to share benefits and risks rather than shifting the burden from one generation to another.   The report provides an overview of a broad set of practical solutions, ranging from the existing but underappreciated to the highly innovative.
