The Canadian Healthcare Association’s new brief, New Directions for Facility-Based Long Term Care, explores opportunities now needed to transform Canadian long term care.

As noted in the brief, the delivery of appropriate facility-based long term care services will continue to be a challenge until policy makers realize its importance to the changing health system and focus on making services more equitable across the country.

CHA calls on both provincial and federal governments to work together to ensure that the system has the capacity to meet the needs of the ageing population.
