The Australian Institute for Population Ageing Research [AIPAR], which was officially launched earlier this month, was created as an umbrella for research on global ageing, the important demographic transition that will drive social and economic programs for years to come.

AIPAR is funded through grants from the government and private donations.   Its goal is to stimulate debate about the challenges raised by global population ageing, develops ideas for new products, formulates policy proposals and encourages partnerships with other research institutions in Australia and overseas. One of AIPAR’s current initiatives is the production of a regular Longevity Index, which aims to emphasise the importance of longevity risk and insurance.

IAHSA will follow their progress and share their reports with you.
