The reality facing the baby boomers as well as even older workers is that the recession will force many of them to work longer than they had planned.  But how do they keep the job they have or find another one???

According to a recent study by Met Life’s Mature Market Institute, there is no easy answer to that question.    Data collected indicates that there is a disconnect between those in their late fifties and sixties who aspire to continue working and the realities of a job market that tends to treat many older job candidates as, at best, irrelevant.   Given these facts, the study does offer some advice on what the ageing job seekers will have to do in the next few years to be successful in the changing employment market.

Even though this study was based in the USA I suspect that there are lessons to be learned in other countries.
