I don’t know much about soccer but it has captured the heart and passion of millions of people around the world.   And the volume in the soccer world goes up a few notches every four years when the World Cup comes around.

South Africa is host to the 2010 World Cup and along with the teams from 32 countries around the world, everyone visiting will also learn about a local team called Vakhegula Vakhegula, which means ‘grannies’ in the language Xitshonga.

According to BBC News, the team members of the Grannies range in age from early 60s to 83.   I don’t know about you, but I’ll be routing from the Grannies come next year.
