Singapore, a country facing a large increase in its elderly population, is taking steps to take care of its elderly citizens by developing housing centers.  The latest to be opened is the Golden Jasmine, a center that will provide housing, physiotherapy, and a traditional Chinese medicine clinic, and will have staff who will be on hand to help residents with emergencies.

As reported in Today On Line, Golden Jasmine is being developed by the Singapore Housing and Development Board in conjunction with the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports.  To date they have launched 3400 flats and will continue to build more to meet the needs of the ageing population.
