The United Nations General Assembly Designated October 1st as the International Day of Older Persons in 1990.  As a result, today we mark the 20th celebration of this date.   IAHSA wishes that today’s celebration is another step towards the continuous improvement in the quality of elderly care  and the creation of a care community across borders.  We also hope that the date serves to enable and empower all of us to live fully as we age.
