Andrew Larpent, Chief Executive  of the UK’s Somerset Care Group, has been blogging daily as he takes part of IAHSA’s Technology Study Tour in the US’s West Coast.   The tour began last week in Seattle, WA and will continue through the West Coast, ending at AAHSA’s annual meeting in Los Angeles, CA.   So far, the group has visited The Skyline, one of three retirement communities built and operated by Presbyterian Retirement Communities Northwest, Kin On Health Care Center, a community owned, non-profit facility established to respond to the healthcare needs of Chinese and Asian elderly, Wesley Homes Lea Hill, a beautiful state of the art care community occupying a large campus of 19 Acres and distinguished for its design, and Tacoma Lutheran Retirement Community, where participants got to enjoy a presentation on some of the technology innovation in use at the site.  Other tour highlights include beautiful views of Seattle, WA, crossing the famous Tacoma Narrows Bridge (twice!) and a group climb of Mt. Rainer in during the first blizzard of the season.  Check out Andrew’s blog through the link below and enjoy some of the tour pictures.   Don’t forget: there is still time to join IAHSA’s study tours to Israel and China in the spring!
