The Pudong New Area of Shanghai is launching a star-rating system for aged care facilities in the district, one of the few such rating systems in China, as reported in Shanghai Daily.   A similar system was begun in Beijing several years ago.

The rating system is in response to the rapid growth in the number of seniors in China and is an attempt by the local government to assess the quality being provided by the aged care providers who are being developed to care for the elderly population.

Cherish Yearn will be part of the pilot program and is featured as a site visit during IAHSA’s Study Tour to China in April.   You can join our tour by visiting our website.  For more information or if you have any questions, contact IAHSA at iahsa@aahsa.org.
