The AIA Design for Aging Knowledge Community recently released its latest report on innovations in senior housing, Design for Aging Review – 10 Insights & Innovations:  The State of Senior Housing.   The report examines architectural design and best practices of 100 recently developed senior living and housing projects in the US and from around the world and identifies common trends and themes.   The study finds an increasing interest in the household model with contemporary designs and more development of senior housing in urban areas among its findings.

You can learn first hand about these trends by participating in IAHSA’s Design for Ageing Study Tour in October 2011.
